Leopard tortoises (Stigmochelys pardalis) are native to Africa. They're arguably the fourth largest tortoise species in the world, growing up to 18 inches and weighing up to 40 pounds. The S. pardalis babcocki sub species that we keep are smaller than the S. pardalis pardalis, our females measuring approximately 15 inches and weighing approximately 25 pounds.

Leopards are very personable and need a lot of space! They require UV lighting, high temperatures (80-100F), medium humidity and lots of food! They thrive on mixed greens, cactus pads, grasses and veggies. Ours love to be outside in the summer, grazing and basking to their hearts' content!

Here's a video of one of our breeding females.
